The liner notes for “Advent Arlow” call it “a tale from within a Mother, told by a Father,” referring to the process of childbirth suggested by the album’s track titles. The presentation of that process is painted entirely by the formation of sounds and the process of hearing them grow and develop throughout the album. In that regard, it’s a concept album, but one driven less by familiarized structures and language than the attempt to actually document one’s experience with the concept explored. This is how the album skips notions of genre entirely in favor of the actual translation of an experience into sound, laid out chronologically with a clear beginning and end.
