about

Collage:

"A collection of unrelated items which take on artistic and aesthetic significance when appropriate grouped.

"This definition is certainly characteristic of the musical potpourri contained in this stereo recording of the “Jax of Harmony” barbershop quartet. From the title to the pure barbershop contest set “South Medley” and “May I Tell You My Dream”, the Collage them is complete.

"Collage describes the long and varied barbershop experience of the “jax” which includes over 72 years of barbershopping, the 1972 Central State District (CSA) Championship, three times S.P.E.R.S.Q.S.A., Inc. International Competitors (semi-finalists – top 20 ranking), and performances in many of the 50 states and Puerto Rico.

"Ardent members of the Des Moines, Iowa “Des Moines – Aires” barbershop chapter, all four men are active in the chapter administrative and musical programs."

The “Jax of Harmony” are:

Tenor – John Mininger – married – two sons – is a 12-year barbershopper ready to sing anytime, any part, any song. John is assistant administrator of Iowa Methodist Hospital and an original “Jax” member.
