I have wanted to put out a release for NY-based noise-rock trio, Baby Birds Don’t Drink Milk, ever since I saw them play in 2007 at a basement venue in Boone, IA my brother used to run called the Elephungeon. Back then, they were repping CD’s of their noise-folk masterpiece, “Eek Shriek Beak”, an album I consider to be a major formative discovery for me in my own personal music history.
Nearly ten years later, I’m proud to present two previously unreleased, 2012 BBDDM tracks, “Mexico” and “Slow Beat”. The tracks are an example of the band’s more longform, drone tendencies, not unlike some of the early Black Dice soundscapes on “Beaches and Canyons” and “Creature Comforts”.
But BBDDM have always had more of a guitar-laden core to them, enshrouding their sonic explorations in echoing rhythms and the towering thickness of noise. Those heavy tendencies shine throughout the wandering, rhythmic drones of both sides of their first Warm Gospel release.

"Take a breather, bud. Mexico b/w Slow beat is about to slow your system like a nice little snake bite ripping venom throughout your body with each beat of the heart. Let it sink those fangs in deep too. Baby Birds Don’t Drink Milk, fuck face, YOU’RE DEAD"
