Warm Gospel 72

The “Rainy Sessions” were recorded by label returnee, DR, and Macedonia sound artist, Toni Dimitrov, in the span of a month at the end of 2018 and beginning of 2019. The album’s five tracks combine DR’s ambient meditations with Dimitrov’s abstracted and effected field recordings. The name of the cassette carries the implication of long stretches of dreary weather, but it’s the application of it through the blown-out field recordings of lonely landscapes that really textures this release. It lurks with distant signs of life folded into the slow turning of the days played out in the changing melodies of DR’s waves of synth.
